Welcome to a new week!
I sent home several items in the Friday Folder. I hope you will take a look at them. I would like the writing ideas page returned this week. If you are interested in chaperoning the field trip to St. John's on October 15th, please return the form by this Friday and complete your background check.
We have mastered reading the sight words "I" and "can". I will be sending home the list of sight words (star words we call them) and also create some flash cards for you to use with your child.
We will continue our science unit on TREES this week. We will continue to learn about tree parts, tree identification, and tree functions. Later on we will focus on the leaves. Our field trip to St. John's Arboretum or Outdoor Classroom, is a great culmination of our unit. I will be sending home a parent note in the Friday Folder about our science unit and a 'homework' activity to collect leaves.
In reading we are practicing rhymes, syllables, and recalling important information. During READ TO SELF, we are using our 'Eagle Eye'. Ask your child about that!
In math we are learning about counting, sorting and number recognition.
Have a great week! Mrs. Krebs
