The last week of January is here!! Oh, my! This week we will be doing some math and reading activites with a groundhog theme...just for fun!! The weather is great and we are getting outdoors! Conferences start this week, so I will be seeing some of you this Thursday night! You can return the January homework sheets anytime this week or next. Please continue to practice star words at home. I found out on Friday that our class will get to go on an extra field trip this year! We will be going to the MAC on Tuesday, February 10th to ice skate!!!! If you are interested in meeting us there (not sure the time yet), please get your background check finished by then. We love parent helpers!!

Language Arts: Retelling, pronouns, blending/segmenting, concepts of print, poetry, word families (-at, -et, -ig, -it, -an), adjectives, CVC words (consonant-vowel-consonant), writing our last names, writing a story with a sentence.
Math: Ordering numbers, simple addition and subtraction, finding a number 1 more or 1 less than, shapes (2D and 3D), 2-digit numbers, tally marks, hundreds chart, coins, story problems.
Social studies/health/science: Martin Luther King, Jr., Materials in Our World (wood)
