This week we will wrap up the month of November!! It has been a busy month. It is a short week, with the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday. Our plan for this week include, making a few fun seasonal art projects and inviting Ms. Wimmer's class over to our room for some playtime.
We will be looking at our family photos and our handprints homework pictures this week, to discuss the varieties of families we all come from. If you have not sent in the photo, or done the homework, you should have your child bring them in tomorrow!!
We will read some turkey stories and play some turkey games, too. Keep practicing the star words at home (sight words). We add a new one each week. This month's focus areas include-
Language Arts : Comprehension, star words (sight words), blending, segmentation, syllables, rhyming, letter sounds/letter recognition, verbs, guided reading groups, handwriting, writer's workshop (sound spelling, ideas)
Math: measuring, number recognition, writing numbers, shapes, patterns, estimation, number sets, counting, number stories
Science/social studies: Living/non-living things, citizenship (voting), Veteran's Day, families and traditions
No school on Thursday and Friday of this week...Happy Thanksgiving!!
